A collection of artworks by Joanne Reen
Joanne Reen is a B.Tech Fine Art graduate who constantly thrives to engage with the environment and her immediate surroundings.
A recurrent them in her work is the Eastern Cape landscape, predominantly the harsh, unrelenting yet captivating landscape of the Karoo. Her emotional attachment to the Karoo is deeply rooted in its wide open spaces and this remains a constant source of inspiration and connection.
She is currently focusing on a series of landscape paintings that relate to times of liminality, particularly the changing of light on the Karoo landscape after sunset.
You are invited to the opening function on the 16 December 2010 at 18:30 diagonally opposite The Owl House.
The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 16:00.

Common misspellings of Nieu Bethesda
In 1878, when the town was first formed, the name nu Bethesda was misspelt as "Nieu Bethesda". "New Bethesda" is also a popular spelling. The town has has more creative misspellings like: New, Nu, Nieuw, Niew, Bethesda, Betesda, Bathesda, Batesda, Bethesta, Betesta, Bathesta and Batesta.
